She earned her high school diploma from Colegio Bocas de Nosara, and now is studying Special Education at the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED) at Nicoya. Matilde is a natural and joyful educator who deeply enjoys every minute with her students. Alejandra Lahsen

At a very young age, Alejandra realized that she wanted to travel the world and become a teacher. After completing her Early Childhood Education Degree at Andres Bello University in Santiago, Chile, Alejandra moved to New Zeland to learn English. Soon after, she fell in love with the people and the culture of the country and stayed for 17 years. During that time, Alejandra met her husband Gonzalo, an adventurous Argentinian chef with whom she has two "kiwi" daughters. Alejandra holds a Montessori certification and has worked as a Lead teacher in a variety of schools. A passionate teacher, Alejandra strives to identify each children's potential and provide them with learning opportunities and experiences that will prepare them for their next stages in life. As a lifelong learner, Alejandra is always seeking new alternatives to improve her craft and continue impacting our younger ones.

Ana María Mayorga

Ms. Ana Maria was born and raised in Nosara. After graduating from Colegio Bocas de Nosara and obtaining a degree in Tourism and Services at the Institute of National Learning (INA), she began working with children. She has always been heavily involved in her church, including leadership roles and humanitarian missions to other countries. Currently, Ms. Ana Maria is working towards obtaining her teaching degree at the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED) and is about to complete her training with the Centro de Entrenamiento Montessori de Monterrey (Mexico).

Mariela (Mima) Montero

Proudly born and raised in Costa Rica, Mima is an energetic teacher who enjoys all things outdoors. From trekking to climbing, to bird and wildlife watching, she strives to share her passion for nature with her young students. Mima holds a degree in Early Childhood Education by the University of Costa Rica (UCR) and an extension y special education in the early years by Fidelitas University. Mima has been a Del Mar Member twice. In 2016 and 2017, as a maternity leave substitute, she taught Spanish Language Arts to grades 4 and 5, and Theater to all grades. Prior to rejoining Del Mar, Mima was the toddler teacher at the Anglo American School and the Saint Gregory School in San Jose. She has also been a “personal teacher” and early stimulation trainer for children. Mima is also a certified yoga instructor for children (India and Costa Rica) and possesses studies in Dramatic Arts, also by the UCR.

Carolina Sánchez

Carolina was born and raised in San Jose, Costa Rica. She holds an Early Education teaching degree from Universidad Latina de Costa Rica and a Montessori certification from the Panamerican Montessori Society. With over ten years of experience, Carolina has worked with children of all ages between four months and six years old and has also taught students with special educational needs. As an early childhood educator, Carolina enjoys witnessing how her students develop their own skills and feels inspired by the lessons they teach her every day. Carolina has a ten year old daughter and moved to Nosara two years ago. She enjoys nature, hiking, cats, drawing and tranquility. .
